Target your advocacy at:

  • Internal audiences: those who set organisational priorities and allocate resources
  • External audiences: who manage key learning partnerships and agencies

The regional museums, libraries and archives councils are the main advocates at regional and sub regional level. Consult regional council web sites - these provide rich resources to support advocacy.

What are your organisation's priorities?
To demonstrate your organisation's impact on learning to senior management and to those who make key funding and policy decisions you will need to be fully aware of corporate plans and priorities. These will enable you to tailor your research and arguments.

What are the priorities of your external audience?
Most learning partnerships have national priorities and local plans. Download Connect with external partners to help you understand and research these.

Download Engaging Stakeholders in Norfolk to find out how Norfolk Museums and Archaeology service were prompted by Inspiring Learning for All to raise their profile with their LEA.

'Inspiring Learning for All is a framework that encourages museums, galleries, libraries and archives to be outstanding places for exploration and excitement. Through carefully structured self-analysis the framework encourages both full staff participation and rigorous thinking in building a better organisation.'
