- Inviting the target group into your institution
- A partnership approach, involving other museums, archives or libraries
- Developing and showcasing joint projects based on shared agendas to increase understanding and develop skills on both sides
- Discussion with your regional agency, especially if you will be talking to regional strategic organisations
- Gaining support from your organisation before approaching external partners
