Several organisations used the GLOs to help them design new tools.

  • Culture and Community Learning in Poole Borough Council designed a questionnaire to make the connection between reading and learning. They used a video to record a discussion centred upon a teenage reading group based upon the same questionnaire. Download a case study of Poole's experience here.
  • The University of Leicester Library conducted an email survey. They were able to share the findings of the survey with academic departments to demonstrate the importance of the contribution of information skills sessions in distance learning programmes and the impact they have on students' knowledge and research skills, and attitudes and feelings. Download the email survey form here.
  • Hampshire Museums and Archives Service made links with other council departments as a result of developing new tools.

'The [pilot study] has enabled links to be built between the museums service and Arts Marketing Hampshire which will be developed to produce further evaluation,
including evaluation of learning'
