This section of Inspiring Learning for All highlights how vital learning partnerships are to museums, archives and libraries.

Effective partnerships will:

  • Increase the range and richness of learning opportunities for users
  • Add value to others' programmes and extend your reach
  • Extend opportunities for staff to learn through working with partners with different skills and experience
  • Read about partnerships across the three domains (museums, archives and libraries), across departments in a local authority, and wider partnerships with other agencies. Downloads Essex Libraries and Heritage partners in a regional project; Basic Skills Partnership in Norfolk; Libraries and Adult Learning in Poole; Partnerships for Change in Barra
  • Learn about how Reading Library and Museum used a facilitator to develop a project with the Youth Offending Team. Download Multi Agency working in Reading

Go to the next page for guidance on working in partnership.

'We realise that a successful outcome for Inspiring Learning for All will depend on strong and committed partnerships. Without these, long term improvement to services for users would be unsustainable.'
